In a review for The Quint, Pratikshya Mishra wrote, "Ashwin’s film is more about 'effort' than 'effect' – the ambition is clear, and it's an impressive achievement. It's designed for mass appeal, evident from the intended reactions of cheers and applause. However, this energy depends on the crowd’s response. Unfortunately, the audience around me didn't seem as impressed, which might have affected the overall experience. Perhaps the film would fare better in a different setting."
The film's release has been eagerly awaited, and its performance on opening day suggests a strong start. With a star-studded cast and a unique dystopian premise, "Kalki 2898 AD" is poised to make a significant impact on the Indian film industry.
